Gymlacium in The Stacks

This artwork by Manca Ahlin will transform the former Carnegie Library steel bookshelves (affectionately known as The Stacks) into a three-story artwork you can climb, slide down, swing on and chill in.

Manca weaves rope sections using traditional bobbin and lace techniques that she learned as a child in Slovenia. Cross a bridge, climb a ladder, summit hills, hang on a rope swing and lounge in hammocks as you explore a landscape unlike any other.

Gymlacium opens on Saturday, June 8.
