Hi Mike, you´re welcome. Nice to see you here. The technology has been built by Service2Media, and should work on most phones not older than 2 years. The application is Java-based, and can be downloaded by sending 'n8' (name of our event) to a designated number. You then receive a text message with a URL where you can download the app (300kb). Once installed, you won't have to be online to use most of its functions, but for updates of the news, blog and upgrades you need to come online briefly. The program is rather light and works well on my Nokia N73. I really like the interactive map of Amsterdam with all the museums as clickable nodes. Also the navigation of the programme is very good, with a realtime timeline during the night. It shows you exactly where you are during the event (time that is, not location - not yet). You can see some screenshots here.

Hey Juha. Thanks for pointing this out to me. What's the technology - can it be used on most / all mobile phones or just a select few?
